"Artist/Winemaker Night" at Gather Wine Bar featuring the Ortman Family Vineyards and the works of Heidi Franscioni and Mary Ratner

Arroyo Grande, CA (PRWEB) September 23, 2009 -- Gather Wine Bar and Haub Gallery present its first "Artist/Winemaker Night" at the wine bar in the Village of Arroyo Grande on Wednesday, October 7th from 6:30-8:30pm. The inaugural event showcases winemaker Matt Ortman and his Ortman Family Vineyards wines paired perfectly with works of Heidi Franscioni and Mary Ratner.

Heidi Franscioni is best known for her encaustic photographic paintings; applying layers of hot molten beeswax with her photographic images. Her work often references nude studies, architecture, saturated color, and transparent forms, and found objects. Dreamlike issues are explored, encouraging the viewer to be transformed to another place and time.

Mary Ratner is a central coast photographer who finds her inspiration from her journeys to Africa and India. Her photography represents the beauty and mystery of the cultures she visits through the frankness and simplicity of her images.

Gather specializes in value pricing our region's amazing Central Coast wines and serving them in a comfortably elegant environment. "I hope for Gather to be an extension to our customer's homes, and I think we have found that feeling" says Kari Ziegler. In addition to fantastic wines, Gather serves small bites that help showcase the local wines. In addition to the yummy Gather-made food, Gather's customers are welcome if not encouraged to bring in their own food whether it be takeout from local restaurants or made by themselves to share with their party.
